Ms. F. Hasan – Kindergarten teacher, graduated from the Delaware County Community College, worked as an administrative assistant and social studies teacher at other schools before coming to Al Aqsa where she has been working for the past 12 yrs. She is a keen observer of children who knows well that all children do not learn the same way.
Ms. Marwa Hussein – 1st grade assistant, B.A. in English from Egypt University.
M. G Salah, 1st grade teacher – graduate of Drexel University with a bachelor and master degree in Science (15 years of teaching). A model of a Muslim lady, she brings fascinating and inspiring stories to the entire elementary school every day.
Ms. S. Abdur Rahman – 2nd grade teacher, course work at King Abdul Aziz University, Mecca, Saudi Arabic, Seton Hall University (20 years of teaching experience). She is indefatigable in doing her many duties and showing many strategies for teaching successfully.
Ms. Maha Abduljabbar – 3rd grade teacher, Bachelor degree at Amman University, Jordan, Master degree in English, University of Texas (Dallas), Graduate Certificate in TESOL. She has taught English at Richland College for 10 years, University of North Texas for several years as well as English and literature for elementary students at Peace Academy. Taught Arabic and Islamic studies to elementary students in an Islamic School in Texas.
Ms. Nuri Abdus-Salaam – 4th grade teacher who has her B.S. degree and has taught at several schools in New Jersey.
Ms. Sabah Bouabdallah – 5th grade teacher who has her PhD in English and has taught in elementary schools in Philadelphia as well as in her own country in Algeria.
Ms. Haliya Bint-Habib – 6th grade teacher who has her Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum from Drexel University (GPA 3.9), and a B.S. in Childcare Management from Chestnut Hill College.
Ms. S Taj Senior Arabic teacher – a graduate of Al-Najah University in Palestine with a degree in teaching Arabic (23 years of teaching experience, certified). She is an extremely loyal teacher and exemplary Arabic instructor. All of her students appreciate and love her testifying to their ability under her teaching.
Ms. A Aitibir – Arabic teacher having graduated from Algerian Law School, taught Arabic in several city schools and has been teaching at Al Aqsa since 2006. She is much loved, respected and has a passion for her work.
Ms. Sundus Abou-Hatad – Math and Social Studies teacher, B.S. degree from Temple University.
Ms. Fatima Aglaguel – Arabic teacher, B.A. from University of Morocco, 20 years teaching experience.
Mr. Majd Ahmad – Teacher of upper grade Science, received his B.S. degree in Science Education from Temple University. Mr. Ahmad is passionate about children learning science and has been a Muslim all his life.
Ms. Cherie Calleta – Middle School/High School English teacher has her MA in English and extensive teaching experience.
Ms. Kathy Cummings – Math and Reading specialist, Masters in Education with extensive experience.
Ms. Jean Davis – M. Ed Specialist in Reading.
Ms. Siham Haj Kasem – Arabic teacher, B.A, from Damascus, Syria and with 11 years teaching experience.
Ms. Rama Hobbi – Arabic teacher, B.A. Damascus University.
Mr. Abdur Rahman – Principal, BA, BD, MA and doctoral studies (the latter at Temple University), organized community groups for improvement in North Philadelphia housing and schools, led the protest to rebuild the Lehigh Library on 6th and Lehigh Ave, taught in the Philadelphia School District for 30 years, union rep for the school and has an enduring passion to see Philadelphia children succeed.
Ms. Khadra Salim – B.A, from Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt has taught Arabic and Islamic Studies in Al Aqsa’s kindergarten for the past nineteen years and much loved.
Mr. Jose Santiago – Middle School/High School Social Studies teacher has his BA in secondary education in History and taught for a few years in Philadelphia.
Ms. Amira Shehata – Gym teacher.
Ms. Jean Williams-Davis – Reading specialist, Masters in Education with extensive teaching experience.
